Savory Deli & Grocery

I have been a New Yorker all my life and have ordered from countless places. I have to say, this is the one of places that have never ONCE messed up!! No matter who takes the order they are always friendly. I can order something right...if they don't have it the owner (HIMSELF!!!) would go next door to another store and get it. NOW ....tell me where you can get service like that. I work overnight and sometimes I don't want to cook when I cone home. By the time I get out of the shower they will already be at my door. I love you guys!! You even remember what I like lol.

Saw these guys didn't really have any reviews yet, so figured I'd help out. I had a great order. Sandwiches were inexpensive, which made me think they'd be lacking in quality. Nope. Even called me on the phone to see if I wanted it hot or cold. Delivery was very fast - less than 30 minutes. I usually wait an hour for restaurants in this area. Delivery guy was super nice and eager to give me a few menus, presumably to get the word out. I'd highly recommend them. They're courteous, fast, and reasonably priced.

I've been ordering from savory for as long as I can remember. They have the best food, great services, best relationship with and always joke around with each other. To me, my experience with savory deli is better than any other store that I have been with. The owner, mike, likes to joke around with the customers a lot and they literally make u feel welcomed. Would recommend for anyone and if you don't believe me, don't take my word for it go ahead and try, you won't regret it.

this is one of the best places to order from, honestly they are so professional and provide the best customer service should they have questions or something needs clarification they call and double check. I do wish they made pancakes on their menu; i rather order here than any diner/ coffeshop in my area. food good customer service good... all other delivery places need to follow their lead

Im surprised by customers who say they didnt get the right order. I order here multiple times a week and Ive ordered at 8am and 1am and it doesnt matter what time, they are always 100% reliable. My order has never been late! The food is always fresh and tastes good and the halal food is amazing. Best neighborhood deli, hands down.

You guys.... let me put you onto something thats going to change your life and all hungover mornings. There are delis on every corner but none as completely accommodating or nice as this. I ordered a breakfast sausage platter add bacon and avocado and asked if they could turn it into a wrap and surpassed my expectations by delivering the most amazing breakfast burrito Ive ever had in my life. Coming from California where California breakfast burritos are a staple, this was the closest thing to home Ive had in NY. Eggs, cheddar, bacon, sausage, French fries, ( I like to add avocado but good without) all wrapped in a burrito wrap I swear to god I cant stop ordering it. So good!!! They should add it to their menu permanently. They get it right every time rather than getting annoyed and ignoring edit comments like most places and the portion is huge. These guys are the best!!

Of all the spots this place is my GO TO! NEVER FAIL! Savory is that jawn, son! HELLA punctual! Even though they're not the closest bodega to my block they still beat the delivery time of the delis one block away from me.

They also got BOMB chicken/lamb over rice halal food! The secret's gotta be the rice. It's a finer texture rice than you get most places. Almost like a jasmine rice. On top of the unique texture there's a lighter flavor note in the rice too, more than just saffron and/or regular halal spices but like a cardamom note. It's wild! You gotta try it. I reccomend the chicken as the lamb is straightforward gyro lamb rotisserie. The chicken is a nicer balance with the rice but the lamb won't steer you wrong.

TL/DR
DON'T SLEEP ON THE CHICKEN AND RICE! GET THAT! SON!

I consider myself an expert of Halal food because I eat it almost everyday and all over the city ( I drive uber). This place has the Best Lamb over Rice in the city., hands down. No BS. Halal Guys has nothing on this place. The lamb is always cooked just the right consistency and the salad is always chopped small at the right angles and length. The rice is so so but I am not a rice person anyway. As I found with most halal lamb it's a bit too salty but I can live with it.
Down side to this place is the actual store itself is a hangout for thuglikes. Thank God for Seamless.

I've ordered from here many times. I love the lamb and chicken over rice. Easily the best I've ever had.

One time I had to pay cash, and the only way to cover the cost was to use a very old $5 bill I didn't want to use. Sal called a few minutes into my meal to tell me he too realized how old the bill was and promised to hold it until I could exchange it for a newer one.

Few times in my life has someone put forth that kind of customer service, so thanks Sal! This review is for you.

my go-to deli for delivery. a couple of items were incorrect on my last order, but I've been ordering from them for a little while and the food is usually great. they were super nice and patient when I had an issue with my phone and the delivery person couldn't get through to let me know that they had arrived. I will continue to order from them.
